The West Columbia Gorge Chamber of Commerce incorporates the cities of Cascade Locks, Corbett, Fairview, Troutdale and Wood Village. Each city is uniquely different, but the vision to promote growth, livability, community, and tourism remains.

Steve and Karen Johnson

As a young boy growing up in the SE Portland/ Gresham area, Steve Johnston has always had a love for cars. Starting small with Hot Wheels, then progressing to go karts, riding lawn mowers and finally his first car, a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass S, Steve started learning about hands-on mechanics. Beginning with small engines while in middle school at Dexter McCarty, he worked up to vehicles in auto shop class as a student at Gresham High School.

When Steve was 17, he started working at the Gresham Kmart Auto Center. This was the beginning of his automotive career. He attended Mt. Hood Community College where he received his Associates Degree in Automotive Technology. After graduation he was able to secure an Automotive Technician position with McRobert Ford (now known as Gresham Ford), where he worked for a number of years. He continued his education and training, becoming an Automatic Transmission Specialist certified through Ford Motor Company.
